P.E.A.S.E. Academy has a full-time Licensed School Social Worker on site to serve the needs of our students. The school has also partnered with OMNI Mental Health to provide on-site counseling services if the student wants. The service is not free but OMNI works with most families’ insurance providers. There are also monthly parent support groups facilitated by the school’s LADC.
P.E.A.S.E. Academy is a 4-year graduating high school program, recognized by the State of Minnesota. The school operates as a public charter school under the larger charter of Minnesota Transitions Charter Schools (MTCS). Students who graduate from P.E.A.S.E. Academy earn an MN Transitions Charter School Diploma recognized by all Colleges, Universities, and branches of the Armed Services as an accredited high school.
P.E.A.S.E. Academy has one full-time Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) on site. All students take one formal Sobriety Support Group once a week with the counselor. During the day, the counselor is available for a one-on-one or small group if students need.
All students are able to eat breakfast and lunch at P.E.A.S.E. Academy at no cost to the families.
The school provides the students bus cards to use public transportation at no cost to the families. If there is a geographic concentration of 8 or more student, a school bus can be organized.
The majority of students enrolled at P.E.A.S.E. Academy do not relapse or begin to use again. If there is a relapse and the student is honest about the episode and with a desire to change, then a plan is worked out with the school’s Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC), communicate with all those who can support the student, and the student can stay in good standing. If the student is dishonest or is using the school works with the student and her/his family to get the additional supports needed to stabilize so they can return to school and be successful. Our doors are never shut on anyone as we recognize that an individual’s commitment to abstinence and recovery can change.
No. There are no costs associated with attending P.E.A.S.E. Academy
